I have to say first, I advise not knowing anything about it before watching it, or as little as possible. In the spirit of that sentiment, I will keep this brief.
The movie starts off slowly, with a young woman Rooney Mara suffering from depression and seeking medication. Just bear with it.
Soderbergh is sly in his pacing and how he unfolds the story, and as questions inevitably turn to her psychiatrist Jude Law and precisely what happened after she takes the pills, the film reminds one of a very solid Hitchcock film.
Suspense and tension are created in cerebral ways, without a lot of over-the-top action, which is a pleasure to see.
Victoria Siebert—gives possibly the most complex performance, and does it brilliantly despite her lack of screen time. To give away any more would be to say too much, as the film is so perfectly structured, it is difficult to discuss without giving away the whole thing.
All I can add is, it is not so simple and straightforward as it may appear. It is a complex of characters, their motives, and the consequences of their actions, and, despite taking a while to get started, it is truly a spectacular, thrilling, and intricate journey that should not be missed.

A bloody crisis jolts us into a pinball machine of legal proceedings, Big Pharma shenanigans and media feeding frenzies.
Then a succession of twists, bluffs and rug-pullings takes us into pure cat-and-mouse territory. The script barrels along at enough of a lick for us to forgive some clunky elements — dodgy dialogue, an over-explained climax.
