The support cast is amazingly perfect too. But let's be real this is Sacha and Mark's movie. They play off each other very well and more times than not you can almost see them laughing inside.

What follows when they discover each other is hysterical, let me make this clear, if you don't like potty mouth, gutter really dirty humor, don't try it.
If you do? You will love it. Before the Dictator I wasn't sure if Sascha though adapting a character could do something directed and scripted as opposed to Borat and Bruno- but I was wrong- The Dictator though with a slightly cheesy ending was overall packed with laugh appropriate and inappropriate ones.
Clearly based on my rating not only did this film fail to meet expectations outside of a scene or two that were funny those scenes didn't know when to end the joke.
The overall story wasn't a funny concept, and I am not sure who he is mocking in this particular film?
Is it the Blue Collar lower class Brit? Ian McShane is totally wasted and not utilized in this film from Deadwood to Jon Wick he has a presence, and in this film it's not noticeable.
Scenes that may have worked but were too predictable or an overkill, the first was his "Green dress" switcharoo that was in concept very funny but not executed well.
The hide in the Elephant though funny at it's absurdity at first just dragged on as if that would salvage the 85 minute film. This movie was just lacking cohesion it was one lame bit followed by another within a week story line.
Comedians have elements- his is a very skillful ability with great makeup team exposing the regular persons intolerance or ignorance regardless of socio economic status or political tidings and that's brilliant.
The accents the way he frames certain questions and interacts when it's successful is a skill beyond the dramatic actor. I never saw his standup.
Chris Rock I say the opposite keep doing the standup- but your humor and audience isn't for the Emmy's who cares let Gervais or Billy Crystal do that.

Yes I found some of it funny and I did laugh I am glad I did not see it in a theater and that I did not buy it. I won't see it again but I am glad I saw it since I was mildly interested in doing so.
Just hope that kids were not taken to this film and or shown at home not for kids at all.. A fun and stupid movie.
I've read that comedy is more difficult than drama, in which case these must be titans of actors. One of the underlying themes is heavy-handedly expressed, but this does not detract from the sentimental impact and importance of family and love.
Overall, I enjoyed it There were some genuinely funny moments in this movie. And then there were a couple that were too gross for my taste.
I like the character that Mark Strong played and think he did a great job as Cohen's brother. However, I never thought Cohen wasn't particularly funny, and of course he's always over the top with some of his humor.
Sometimes subtle is better. I like a comedy that's clever and witty, rather than one that's in-your-face sexual and gross.
This was more the latter, although it really does have some laugh out loud moments. It don't regret watching it, but it's definitely not something I would recommend.
Maybe I'm just getting too old. I think this one's more for young adults. Sacha Baron Cohen is truly an inspiration, not only in his writing of the movie but his acting as well.
You cannot rate this film on the same criteria as others because it is in a league of its own. Some may call it too crass or vulgar to be liked, however it is the pinnacle of stupid humor.
It has the capability of making even the brightest minds turn into peanut better and the most serious of individuals giggle for the duration of the movie.
It is worth the money to buy and watch at least once, even if you decide that it does not deserve to exist as a movie.

I know i didn't. This film is erotic and full of animalistic energy that makes me howl in both pleasure and comedic pain.
I found both male characters so sensual and exotic that I hoped they would bypass laws and morals and make love to each other for the rest of the film.
Who would be the bottom? Let them fight for it while we watch. I found the elephant scene to be very erotic and titllating.
