All the Kree location stuff was captivating. Ben Davis' cinematography made the Kree leader scenes look gorgeous as he made the Pegasus records room look interesting with his shots.
The movie slows down once on Earth, but the character interactions and development are intriguing to the end if some of the comedy does not always get a laugh or the gunshots do not shock you.
For the record, I did laugh along with Captain Marvel as Brie Larson becomes this spatial heroine goddess-like with her magic inferno hands.
Brie Larson is certainly cool and inspiring in Captain Marvel. Her persevering despite her naysayers exudes a strength greater than punching villains ever could.
I did adore seeing seeing her fly in the final battle tearing through space ships and blast energy wave left and right. Larson is charming as the lead, Carol Danvers, with a serious attitude and charisma.
She feels more real and grounded than a larger than life figure like Robert Downey Jr. Larson leans into the role as the film goes along, reaching relatable status akin to Chris Evans as Captain America if I had to compare her to another Avenger.
Lastly, Captain Marvel contains several wonderful supporting roles. Namely, Samuel L. Jackson looks like he's finally having fun as Nick Fury.
He eats up the scenery with funny dialogue and a nice rapport with Brie Larson. Ben Mendelsohn delivers an emotional and exciting performance as Talos.
He adds a dramatic weight to each scene with his presence. Lashana Lynch gets several incredible dramatic lines that steal each moment.
Djimon Hounsou is stern as ever with a couple of great lines. His sword swinging was never this cool or fierce in The Guardians of the Galaxy.

Had a good time watching this. I'd compare this the most to the first Captain America in that is a good balance of plot, action, and comedy.
This film is surprisingly funny, which the trailers don't reveal. Captain Marvel is likable enough, both confident and charming.
Brie Larson does well in the role whenever it comes to the lighthearted bits. It doesn't help that her tone of voice doesn't shift much.
Although, Nick Fury has been a regular of the Marvel films for a while, it's nice to see him finely be a lead character.
Jackson seems to be having a lot of fun playing a younger, looser Fury this takes place during the 90's. Also a big fan of Ben Mendelsson as Talos, leader of a squad of the shapeshifting enemy race the Skrulls.
I was afraid the actor was being typecasted in his villain roles recently, but this character is a total of his previous ones. He's funny and one of the biggest people persons of the MCU villains.
