View 2 comments. I enjoyed book two just as much as book one. Actually, thinking about it I guess I liked this one even better, because of the depth of the story, and the way it was much more emotionally charged than the first one.

I am pretty sure I would have been a fan of this series in my middle grade years! Recommended to jade by: Shannon.

Shelves: kids , spooky-scary. View all 10 comments. Aug 26, Rachel Kathryn Wright rated it it was amazing. One of the things that I love most about Schwab is that even with this book being middle grade is that she is still able to keep her style of writing.

It is a similar theme to her other books but written in a way that kids can easily read this. This book has left me so excited to see what will happen next in Bridge if Souls.

With most books that get a new villain, they get stronger, and I absolutely loved this v This is the sequel to City of Ghosts in the Cassidy Blake series by Victoria Schwab.

With most books that get a new villain, they get stronger, and I absolutely loved this villain. The villains in this series has been great.

Also, the character growth was fantastic. And we got to learn more about Jacob and how he became a ghost, which is amazing. And the plot was amazing and was paced really well to make everything suspenseful.

And the new setting being Paris and specifically the Catacombs was great. I enjoyed book one immensely, but this one is better.

First off let me just say I'm absolutely loving these books so far and I really hope they become a series. I also LOVE the supernatural with ghost and spirits being at the top of my list so this book is absolutely perfect for me.

This is the second book to City of Ghost and honestly I liked this one more. I feel like there was more to this story then the first one and more interesting places that they had to explore.

In this book we follow Cassidy and Jacob on they're adventures reaping ghost and First off let me just say I'm absolutely loving these books so far and I really hope they become a series.

In this book we follow Cassidy and Jacob on they're adventures reaping ghost and sending them across the Veil like in the first one. Only in this book they're doing they're reaping in Paris.

And to make this book even more perfect then it already is they go to a place that I so badly want to visit myself someday, the Catacombs.

And the job they have to take care of in this story? It's so much more interesting in my opinion then the one they had to take care of in the first book.

This book is definitely a must read for anyone who read the first book and loved it. Like I mentioned above, I think this book was better then the first.

This, however, is one of those stories that you have to read the first book or you won't understand the second. View 1 comment.

Jan 19, Deborah Obida rated it really liked it Shelves: kid-s-books , urban-fantasy. This book is so much better and deeper than the first book.

The ghost in this is an unusual one, he is not hell bent on revenge nor on power but something else that will shock you.

Its actually very sad. I really enjoyed reading more about Cassidy and Jacob, we finally found out how Jacob died and it was sadder than I thought.

The writing though not my best I still liked it, I know its because of the target audience. The depiction of The City of Dead was awesome.

Really enjoyed this! Definitely darker than the first outing and I loved the setting so much. The introduction of stronger ghosts and more information about Jacob, as well as Cassidy becoming more and more comfortable with her abilities and her role, was wonderful!

Can't wait for book three! I don't know what it is about these books but just like last year, I devoured this book in almost one sitting.

I love the eerie vibe and the sweet but unlikely friendship, these books are impossible to put down and once over, all I can think is that I must have MORE!!!!

Schwab has become one of my favorite authors over the last couple years and these books just go to show that she can master any genre and age group she sets her mind to writing.

I love the writing and the pace of following Cassidy I don't know what it is about these books but just like last year, I devoured this book in almost one sitting.

I love the writing and the pace of following Cassidy and her parents on their ghost hunting adventures and how even with parents that star in a paranormal tv show, she still has so many secrets that they don't believe.

It's such a fun dynamic between parents and child while the oblivious parents are looking for ghosts, Cassidy is falling through the veil between worlds sending the specters on to where they belong.

Its great! Oct 27, Callie BeverageandBook rated it really liked it Shelves: read-in Sep 07, Adah Udechukwu rated it it was amazing.

Tunnel of Bones is an exciting, straightforward and fast read. Having read and adored the first book City Of Ghosts last year, Tunnel of Bones takes us back to Cass and her family who are now exploring the sights and catacombs of Paris.

Cass and her ghost friend Jacob end up being targeted by the ghostly spirits of a young boy, who was crushed to his death whilst playing hide and seek with his older brother many years ago.

The spookiness and the thrills were definitely there again but the pacing was a little too fast for me. However, there's twi 4. However, there's twists and turns that kept me very excited to read on.

Bring on book 3! What a great series so far. This sequel was even more creeper than the first one!

Sep 09, Lara rated it really liked it Shelves: friends , ghosts , cover-u , fiction , middle-grade , paranormal.

I got so used to her flawless and natural, yet immersing and intriguing writing that flows through the story making it seem so real and believable.

Namely, Blakes ghost TV show season 2 is being filmed in Paris this time, which is one of the worlds most haunted cities. A part of the show is filmed in the famous catacombs, which is creepy enough, but Cassidy also wakes a poltergeist on her way there.

That is a ghost of chaos that can transfer into the mortal world and feeds on mayhem it causes. Cassidy and Jacob are nowhere near any regular best-friends relationship, but what the two of them have is really special.

Their adventures and everything they go through makes it stronger and they also discover more secrets about each other and the ghosts they are trying to help.

Everything started the day Jacob pulled Cassidy out of the river she almost drowned in, and no matter how much she knows now, her understanding of Jacob and the Veil is nowhere near complete.

That being said, I really, really enjoyed the addition of some amateur-detective elements in this storyline — Cassidy has to find who the ghost is and everything about him to help him remember, and THEN pass him on.

Where could one even start if searching for a dead boy among every single person who ever died in Paris? Blog Tumblr This was exactly what I expected it to be: swift, entertaining and fun.

In this sequel to City of Ghosts , Cassidy finds herself in another adventure involving ghosts, this time in charming yet very haunted Paris.

Add his snarky attitude, his undiluted loyalty and, ahem, the whole mystery surrounding his existence him being a ghost and everything and you got yourselves a winner!

It did not manage to suck me in enough to overlook certain things that I found exasperating, like the decorative existence of parents, not just for Cassidy, but for all the young characters we meet, or the fact that it was a bit more tell and less show at some points.

My hardcore Potterhead brain could also not fathom how a book so heavily inspired by Harry Potter once again, there were quite a few J. K Rowling references, mostly in the second half of the book involved a protagonist hunting down a Poltergeist, but did not know what a Poltergeist was.

This is a highly enjoyable series that I see myself continuing, but I do not think I will ever reread in the future. Oct 15, Julie Zantopoulos rated it it was amazing Shelves: own-it , read-in , audiobook-reads.

Another super cute middle-grade thriller from Schwab. The story keeps getting richer, the characters more real, and the stakes rising.

It's a quick read but a fun one and a spooky one, too. I'll for sure be continuing. Jan 31, Sabrina rated it liked it.

Ready for this next adventure! A Thought. This sequel is great, I enjoyed it as much as the first book and maybe even a little more, I think it has all the components that make it super dynamic to read, it flows very well and very fast, but nevertheless you manage to enjoy every detail and I loved the growth of characters in this one, as well as Paris.

In this sequel, we follow Cassy and her parents to Paris, the second stop that will be part of Cassy's parents' TV show, where we'll visit all the spooky and iconic places in the city.

But this time Cassy must deal with something new for her and much more dangerous. Something has awakened in the Catacombs, something powerful with a hunger for destruction, and Cassy will have to face new and dramatic dangers, while she'll receive help from new friends to stop it or Paris will be totally destroyed.

I think that reading this type of book is so much fun for me because it combines the fluidity of the MG genre, with those scary details that its focus on horror and ghost stories gives, which is something that I really love, so I really enjoyed the story.

I love how it explores some characters a little more in-depth and how it also envelops us in that atmosphere of mystery and tension that makes you can't stop reading to find out what will happen.

I LOVE everything that has to do with stories and urban creepy legends, and there are some here told by Cassy's mother that I just loved and I think they give a very unique vibe to the story, those legends help in a way to make you feeling discomfort and uncertainty, which makes the book even more interesting to read.

I already know the author's style quite well and even so it continues to surprise me, I love how she's so versatile and can write a complex story leaning more towards the fantasy genre, where Schwab is much more descriptive, but she can also give us something more light to read as shown here.

I adore reading her books and I don't plan on stopping, I'm super excited about her new releases and everything to come.

Also, a plus that I appreciate very much about the book is that at the beginning it refreshes many events from the previous book, which is great because it makes it easier to get into this sequel.

Jacob is simply adorable and very funny, he always manages to make me smile even in the tensest moments, I love that; besides, it's my spirit animal lol, he's always putting into words what I think myself.

Knowing a little more about her past was very interesting and touched my heart. I adore Cassy's parents , they remind me of the Warrens for some reason, and I adore listening to them, they're very smart people and, I think it's funny that they're so opposed when it comes to talking about paranormal things.

I loved the pair of new characters, I think they gave an interesting touch to the plot, especially I liked Adele a lot, I think she's super sweet.

I don't know why but I'm not the biggest fan of Lara although I try, her personality is annoying lol. Paris is the perfect setting to tell a paranormal story, but it's also absolutely beautiful, so visiting all those iconic places was a super pleasant and atmospheric experience that I enjoyed a lot.

I think the resolution and the outcome were a bit hasty, maybe a bit convenient and "easy" but I don't really care much, none of it prevented me from enjoying this great book, I had a lot of fun with it, it was just what I expected.

So, of course, I highly recommend this series if you want to read something scary, but also super easy to read and very atmospheric, the characters are adorable, I love them and their growth is remarkable.

But you have to read it, especially if you want to travel with your mind to wonderful places on our planet that are worth knowing. A great book and I'm looking forward to more of Cassy's adventures in the future.

I couldn't get tired of following Cassy's adventures traveling through the world. I had a lot of fun with this book from the get-go, it was super easy to read and beautifully atmospheric.

The main problem may have been solved a bit quickly, but it still never stopped being entertaining and super dynamic.

Victoria Schwab never fails to amaze me. I have fallen in love with every book she has written so far. She just has this ability to make every book unique and absolutely amazing regardless of the genre.

I was really excited to dive back into this story. I picked this one up as an audiobook and the experience added so much to the book.

Would definitely recommend trying it! This book is one of my favorite middle grade series Victoria Schwab never fails to amaze me. This book is one of my favorite middle grade series.

I loved the writing as always. I loved the amount of detail that the author put into each of the places visited. She described the monuments, the food and everything in such wonderful detail.

I'll admit I ended up craving a good amount of pastry from this one. Loved the ghost hunting as usual. There was a good amount of goosebumps and you know the author is doing the creepy vibe right.

There was a good deal of adventure and plenty of ghosts and bone catacombs. We got to learn a bit more about Jacob which was nice but that ending had me really asking questions.

I just wonder how all this will end. If you've thought about picking this series up then I highly recommend you do.

Victoria Schwab knows how to cater to every age group and you'll enjoy this one no matter how old you are. Sep 22, Ashley rated it really liked it.

I love V. I think this book was written fantastically, had a wonderful storyline, characters, world building I just have a really hard time with middle grade these days, I feel like.

The whole time it was like I was captivated, but only on a surface level Oct 19, Hillary rated it it was ok Shelves: middle-grade , low-fantasy.

And I can pinpoint exactly where this installment did me wrong. Honestly, what the hell , go away and stop my most anticipated releases from letting me down again and again.
