I wouldn't say it's disappointing but the film varies greatly from the book. The sets and locations are all wonderful to behold as Langdon travels around in search of clues and answers.
To sum up, the book is not the film, the film is not the book, but as a piece of cinema I found it an enjoyable watch especially when the plot matched that which I recognised from the novel.
Overall I am pleased to add this title to my collection. It's a rollicking romp with the most beautiful scenery, yet it seems to lack heart and soul and emotion.

The tortuous plot is very difficult to portray on the screen and this DVD represents a creditable attempt.
However, I found that I preferred the book which must rank as one of Dan Brown's best. The issue dealt with is very serious and real which affects the world today and the author should be praised for dealing with it in such an entertaining way.

It's sad to watch, but it does create more genuine danger towards the people they are supposed to run away from. Everything else just kind of bogs down the suspense, letting the silliness take over until the movie itself becomes a joke.
And I'm not against to its sense of humor, since they do work, while some are just meant to gross out, specifically when it involves something else than gore.
